Emergencies

At Tarneit Mobile Vet, we do offer after-hours emergency consultations from:

6:00 pm – 11:30 pm weeknights
8:30 am – 11:30 pm on weekends

We carry a comprehensive diagnostic kit and an extensive range of medications (equivalent to most physical veterinary clinics). We can attend to a wide range of emergencies, including urgent euthanasias. Our after-hours emergency consultation fee is $300 plus any tests or medications that may be required. For those located locally (within the Wyndham area), we can often have a vet available within the hour. Our visit time is usually at least 30 minutes to an hour.

***Note: We will assess your pet’s situation with you when you first call up. If from the conversation we deem that your pet would be better placed to attend an emergency centre rather than be diagnosed and treated at home, then we will advise you of that over the phone.***

***Note: If during the consultation we determine that your pet requires immediate emergency imaging (xrays or ultrasound), hospitalisation for intravenous fluids or other intensive care, or surgery, then we will not hesitate to refer straight to one of the 24-hour emergency centres.***

***Note: If heading to a 24-hour emergency centre, please understand that animals are triaged on arrival and seen on an as need basis. Wait times of 2-6 hours are not unheard of, so phoning ahead to assess the situation and give the centre a heads up can be helpful. Emergency centre consult fees range from $215 upwards. Any tests and medications are in addition.***
